Practice Areas

The cases I take.

Different facts, different insurers, different deadlines — but the same job every time: figure out what actually happened, prove it, and make the people responsible pay for it.

If you are not sure whether what happened to you fits any of these, call and ask. That is what the free consultation is for, and the answer costs you nothing either way.

01Car Accidents

The adjuster called you the next morning. That was not courtesy.

Rear-endings, intersection collisions, hit-and-runs, multi-car pileups on 610. Most of these cases turn on two things: what the physical evidence actually shows, and what you said to an insurance company before you had any reason to be careful.

02Truck Accidents

Evidence in a truck case disappears if nobody moves fast.

Commercial vehicle cases are not big car cases. There are multiple insurers, a carrier with its own investigators on the scene within hours, and records — driver logs, maintenance history, electronic control module data — that can be lawfully overwritten on a schedule.

03Medical Malpractice

Most firms will not take these cases. That is a cost problem, not a merit problem.

Surgical errors, missed and delayed diagnoses, medication mistakes, and the harm that follows when a hospital is short-staffed. Texas will not let a case proceed until a qualified medical expert has read the chart and put the breach in writing.

04Rideshare Accidents

The insurance behind an Uber ride changes while you are sitting in it.

Uber and Lyft crashes, as a passenger, another driver or a pedestrian. Texas sets three separate coverage periods, and the one that applies depends on what the app said at the moment of impact.

Not listed here? These are the areas with dedicated pages so far — they are not the only cases I take. If you were hurt because someone else was careless, call and describe it. If it is not something I handle, I will tell you that in the first conversation and point you somewhere useful.

Attorney’s fees are contingent upon recovery. If we do not recover for you, you owe nothing — no fee and no case expenses. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.

How an injury case actually runs

People are usually surprised by how little of this involves a courtroom, and how much of it is documentation. Here is the shape of it, so nothing that happens later comes as a shock.

  1. 1

We talk, and I tell you what I actually think

Free, twenty minutes, no commitment. If I do not think you have a case worth pursuing, you will hear that in the first conversation rather than after you have signed something.

  2. 2

I go and get the evidence before it disappears

The crash report, the scene, the vehicles, the camera footage, the witnesses. In a commercial case that also means a preservation letter to the carrier, because their records cycle out on a schedule that does not care about your claim.

  3. 3

You treat, and we wait for the medical picture to settle

This is the part that takes the longest and the part nobody can shortcut. A claim cannot be valued sensibly until your doctors can say what care you will still need. Settling before that means guessing, and the guess is always low.

  4. 4

    We make a demand

Everything gets assembled into one package and put to the insurer with a number. Plenty of cases end here, and that is a good outcome, not a lesser one.

  5. 5

If they will not be reasonable, we file

Filing suit and going to trial are different things, and the first one frequently produces a fair offer without reaching the second. Most clients never see the inside of a courtroom.

Read up before you call

You do not have to hire anybody to get a straight answer. These are written to be useful on their own, whether or not you ever pick up the phone.

Houston car accidents

What to do in the first week, how Texas divides fault, the two-year deadline, and what a claim can actually cover.

Houston truck accidents

Why an 18-wheeler case is a different animal — the companies involved, the data the truck records, and the letter that stops it being erased.

Houston medical malpractice

Why most firms turn these away, the expert report Texas makes you produce first, and the deadlines and damage caps that apply to nothing else.

Houston rideshare accidents

What Uber and Lyft actually cover in Texas, who holds the trip data, and why the first 24 hours decide what you can prove.

Who pays your medical bills

The at-fault driver’s insurer pays once, at the end. This is what covers you in the meantime — PIP, MedPay, health insurance, and hospital liens.

Where I practice

The office is on Woodway in Uptown Houston and most cases are filed in Harris County. I also take cases throughout the surrounding counties — Fort Bend, Montgomery, Brazoria, Galveston and Waller — including Sugar Land, Katy, Missouri City, Pearland, The Woodlands, Spring, Cypress, Humble, Stafford and Baytown.

Which county a case is filed in matters more than people expect. It shapes the jury pool, how quickly the case moves, and sometimes the value of the claim itself. If you were hurt in one county and live in another, that is worth a conversation early rather than late.

If you cannot easily get to Uptown — and plenty of people cannot, in the weeks after a serious wreck — say so when you call and we will work around it.

In Cypress and the wider Cy-Fair area there is no city police department at all, so who worked your crash — and where the report ends up — works differently again.

The questions that come up most often — who pays the medical bills, how fault gets divided, what an adjuster is really asking for — are answered at length on the blog.
